Rudolf Karl

Rudolf Karl and Elisabeth Stigler, grandparents of the estate's current proprietor, Andreas Stigler, operated the restaurant its demise at the end  of the second Wolrd War. Thereafter, Rudolf devoted all his efforts to viticulture. An idealist and a man of vision, he enlarges and consolidated the estate's vineyard area in the Winklerberg, the most highly prized site on the weathered, volcanic stone soils of the Kaiserstuhl.
